Both porcelain crowns and fixed bridges are fixed prosthetic devices. They’re cemented onto your existing teeth, and can only be removed by your dentist.

Porcelain Crowns

A dental crown is a great way to completely cover your damaged tooth. Not only it strengthens the damaged tooth, but it can also improve your appearance as well as alignment. A crown can also be placed on top of an implant to provide a tooth-like shape and structure for function. Porcelain crowns can be matched to the color of your natural teeth.

You may need dental crowns due to the following reasons:

  • To replace a large filling when there isn’t enough tooth remaining
  • To protect a weak tooth from fracturing
  • To restore a fractured tooth
  • To attach a bridge
  • To cover a titanium post
  • To cover a discolored or poorly shaped tooth
  • To cover a tooth where root canal treatment had been performed

Fixed Bridges

A dental bridge is a non-removable fixed prosthetic appliance that can replace your missing teeth. Our Seattle dentist will discuss which type of bridge will work for your particular case.

Fixed bridges are usually made of porcelain fused to metal, which has two crowns that go over two abutment teeth and they’re attached to artificial teeth in order to fill the space.

Fixed bridges are very durable even if it may be necessary to regularly check with your dentist in Seattle at Sunrise Dental as they might need to be re-cemented due to normal wear.

What People Are Saying

Very professional, competent and friendly team. They accepted my insurance and I had to pay very little out of pocket. I highly recommend them.

SEAN C. ON YELP

The scanning technology he used "iTero" to take an image of how my teeth are is so accurate that the veneers and crowns fit like a glove! He used the same technology to order my invasline which means the accuracy would be perfect and leads to good quality work.

TALIB N. ON YELP

Having my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Mehran Varedi was a very positive experience! He and the nurses were very informative and were checking in on me periodically throughout the procedure to make sure I was okay.

We love Dr. Mehran Varedi and their awesome staff, they are always so kind, and they answer all your questions. We moved to the area recently and feel so fortunate we found Dr. Mehran Varedi.

ELISABETH E. ON GOOGLE

I've been to over 7 different dentists in my lifetime, if not more. This is the best dentist I have ever been to, hands down. You can tell they care about doing quality work and providing the best care instead of a lot of other places that just want to treat you like a customer.
